We're open!

From 7th February our Sunday morning services of gathered worship are open.

With considerably reduced virus case rates in Powys and across Wales, we are open for those who feel comfortable coming along.  All the necessary Covid-secure measures will be in place (face masks, hand sanitiser, no congregational singing and no mingling in the chapel or car park).

Recordings will be available on our "Media" page for those who cannot attend in person and CD's can be distributed as an alternative.

Our Risk Assessment for reopening our services can be read through the link below.

We at Ackhill Baptist Church are a small rural Christian fellowship meeting in the beautiful hamlet of Dolley Green.

We are found just outside Presteigne on the famous Offa's Dyke Path.

Our simple aim is to live as disciples of Jesus and to make disciples of Jesus.

We look to the Bible as God's Word, seeking to understand it and apply it to our lives.

Our concern is to reach out to the rural community of Presteigne and Knighton, as well as further afield, with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Our Pastor is Richard Mansell.

Richard and his family moved from Birmingham to Ackhill Baptist Church in June 2015.  He is married to Sally and they have two young children, Jonathan and Heidi.

Richard was an evangelist with Birmingham City Mission for 7 years, where he worked with Fatherless Barn Evangelical Church and Helier Chapel (now Crossway Church).

He was trained in ministry at his home church, Leominster Baptist Church, just over the border in Hereforshire.

He enjoys road cycling and fishing.

We presently have one Deacon who serves the church and forms a leadership team with Richard.
  • Phil Pain from Knighton
Our church Treasurer is Maddy Pain, who lives in Knighton.
